For the last few months ATLiER proprietors Eric Bomba-Ire and Phoebe Brown, with the help of some loyal friends and in-between shows set dressing pals, have been painting, polishing, scouring and sweating (definitely sweating!) to bring a new prop shop to Atlanta. Jumping on the production bandwagon, you ask? Sure, we know Atlanta is humming with film and television production but we aren’t newcomers. Longtime 479 members – we were here when a handful of films shot a year. Over the years we’ve worked with great prop masters, set decorators and production designers in town and over the years we’ve learned a thing or two.
One: we know atelier – the French word for shop—is spelled with another “e”, but we liked the play on words and have always championed the ATL in film production.
Two: there are other solid prop shops in Atlanta some longstanding prop shops have carved their niche– we plan to do the same. Our focus is on modern, sophisticated furnishings, art and curated collections of awesome things we love: like rustic farm tools, vintage luggage, ashtrays…it goes on. We won’t be the shop that has everything – but everything we have will be special. Just like the franchise—we’ll be growing fast and furious—so keep up with us as we bring in new finds.
Three: we love the ATL film community and we hope you love us. After over ten years of working hard with you on set and behind the scenes – we are putting our passion, creativity and sense of fun into ATLiER props because we believe Atlanta is and will continue be a world-class production city.
Come on in and check out our collection. We are happy to help you find anything unique that we don’t yet have. We are here to assist you!
